How is the game played as a team on Zoom?

The Zoom link is sent through for the event, as this is HintHunts Zoom account there is no need to download Zoom, just tap on the link to connect to our team of facilitators. You will find yourself on the main Zoom platform along with the rest of your awesome team. A brief intro is given to the team as a whole, then the team is divided up into breakout rooms for the fun to begin. At the end of the game, either beating the clock or time is up, the teams return to the main platform where a debrief is given. Personally our team of facilitators enjoy this debrief as the team dynamics really comes out with lively chatter and laughs over the endeavours to be the first team to complete the challenge., this really jells a team.

How many players are recommended for the group? Also how many would be ideal for each team?

HintHunt can comfortably host about 60 players in one time slot. The group is divided up into a maximum of 6 players per team. We have found more than six member teams can lead to a disconnection of team members.

How are teams picked?

HintHunt will gladly randomly assign teams to breakout rooms. If you would particularly prefer certain members in one team, please send a list of teams with the relevant names through which we will use for assigning breakout rooms.

Can we use another platform besides Zoom?

HintHunt has tried other platforms like MS Teams, etc, but have found Zoom to be the most friendly virtual platform for the experience. The chat box and voice chat in the breakout rooms is how our facilitators connect with the teams, this platform works well with both these options.

How do we decide which online experience would work for our team?

The suggested starter is the Detective Mystery, but the choice is yours. HintHunt will gladly set up a demo for the decision makers as a team to see how the event would be hosted and the dynamics to expect for the team building experience.

Once we have booked and paid for the event, what happens if we have less team members attending than booked for?

HintHunt does not refund for live events, much like the theatre and movie houses as we are selling live time. HintHunt needs to pre-assign the correct number of facilitators to host the team. However we will carry over (at our discretion) either all or some of the number of non-attendees. These carry overs would be used for the next team build booked, costs would be calculated accordingly.

What else could we add to this event to make it a real fun team build?

HintHunt has a number of items that could be added to goodie bags, or prizes for first, second and third. There are HintHunt puzzle boxes, exit games or vouchers available for any of the HintHunt events.

How do mobile escape games work?

These are held at a venue of your choice. Teams play a tabletop version for a max of 100, divided up into groups of 4-6 players per team. Ipad’s provided by HintHunt for this mission. Become the agents and problem solve as a team. Alternatively HintHunt can visit the location pre-event and setup an outdoor mobile escape game experience at the location

How does payment work?

HintHunt will send through a quotation for perusal and to be authorised. Please feel free to liaise your team budget or concerns, we will assist where we can. As HintHunt is selling “live time” we require a deposit and on application we will send an updated invoice on the day for payment for the remainder of participants for an event.

How does Amazing Race work?

Groups are divided up into teams, a max of 4 per team. Each team needs one charged smart phone with about 40mb of data available per team. After the introduction by the facilitator, the app is downloaded and the fun begins. The app takes you through the different clues, locations, riddles of the event. Once the correct answer is given it moves onto the next question. Comfortable clothing, footwear and sunblock are recommended. This event can be as fast moving as your teams make it!
